Build a journey around the football.
Choose a base, leave room for matchday and discover the Morocco in between.
Six cities. Six different stays.
Pick your match city first, then compare the kind of days you want around it.
01 / ATLANTIC CITY LIFE
Casablanca
Oceanfront walks, Art Deco streets and the Habous quarter. Compare a central stay with your separate stadium transfer.
- Stadium programme
- Grand Stade Hassan II · 115,000 target seats
- Matchday detail
- El Mansouria, Benslimane Province; outside downtown.
- Between matches
- Hassan II Mosque, Corniche & neighbourhood markets.
02 / CAPITAL & COAST
Rabat
Pair capital landmarks with the riverfront and ocean. A good starting point for a stay with a slower sightseeing pace.
- Stadium programme
- Moulay Abdellah · 68,700 target seats
- Matchday detail
- Check your venue: Rabat has several distinct stadiums.
- Between matches
- Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower & Chellah.
03 / THE NORTHERN GATEWAY
Tangier
A medina stay with sea views and a natural place to begin a northern route. Plan the international crossing as its own journey.
- Stadium programme
- Grand Stadium of Tangier · 75,600 target seats
- Matchday detail
- Tanger Ville and Tanger Med are different ports.
- Between matches
- Medina, kasbah, Cap Spartel & Hercules Caves.
04 / MEDINA & CRAFT
Fes
Choose Fes for craft workshops, historic courtyards and local food. Ask your riad about the nearest vehicle-accessible meeting point.
- Stadium programme
- Complexe Sportif de Fès · 55,800 target seats
- Matchday detail
- Medina lanes and the stadium require separate transport planning.
- Between matches
- Bou Inania, artisan streets & Jnan Sbil Gardens.
05 / GARDENS & EVENING ENERGY
Marrakech
Build your free days around gardens, the medina and an evening out. Keep an Atlas or Agafay excursion away from matchday.
- Stadium programme
- Grand Stadium of Marrakech · 45,860 target seats
- Matchday detail
- Allow for the journey north of the central medina.
- Between matches
- Jemaa el-Fna, gardens, souks & a hammam.
06 / ATLANTIC DOWNTIME
Agadir
Make room for the beach, a bay-view sunset and a slower final chapter. Compare flights and road or coach connections for the next city.
- Stadium programme
- Grand Stadium of Agadir · 46,000 target seats
- Matchday detail
- Plan the Adrar stadium transfer separately from the beachfront.
- Between matches
- Agadir Oufella, the coast & a Taroudant day trip.

The fan travel checklist.
Open a topic for practical checks before you commit to the trip.
01Tickets & tournament entryWhat actually gets you into the stadium
Check FIFA’s dated 2030 sales announcement for phases, prices, eligible sellers and any resale platform. Confirm the named match, category, delivery method and purchase terms.
A tour or transfer does not include match admission unless explicitly documented. Check the organiser’s 2030 instructions for any identity or Fan ID process; rules from another event do not establish this edition’s requirements.
Ticket purchase checks ↗Source: FIFA · tournament ticketing; Visit Morocco Together · purchase checks.02Passports, visas & bordersCheck each country and every re-entry
Morocco’s visa or travel-authorisation requirements depend on your nationality and documents. Check Accès Maroc or the relevant Moroccan consulate before booking.
Spain and Portugal follow Schengen entry rules. If you leave Schengen for Morocco and return, check whether your visa permits re-entry and has sufficient validity. A match ticket does not by itself replace immigration permission.
Read the fan travel guide ↗Source: Moroccan National Tourism Office · formalities; European Commission · Schengen visa guidance.03Your room & the stadium journeyCompare the whole route, including the return
Compare cancellation terms, the exact accommodation address and the transfer to your named venue. For a medina riad, agree a vehicle-accessible pickup point and luggage arrangements.
Keep matchday free of a long excursion. Confirm accessible seating and transport support directly before booking if you need it. Save your return meeting point offline; do not assume a special shuttle exists.
Choose where to stay ↗Source: Visit Morocco Together · accommodation and matchday transport guides.04Trains, transfers & fan zonesA city connection is only part of the journey
Al Boraq serves Tangier, Kénitra, Rabat Agdal and Casa Voyageurs. Confirm the exact station, departure and onward transfer with ONCF; leave room for queues and event traffic.
Check a dated organiser notice for fan-zone locations, opening times and admission. Keep any advertised screening separate from a stadium ticket. Set a group meeting point and carry your hotel details offline.
Plan matchday transport ↗Source: ONCF · Al Boraq network; Visit Morocco Together · matchday planning.05Money & a realistic budgetPrice each part of your own trip
Budget separately for tickets, accommodation, intercity travel, stadium transfers, meals, activities, insurance and a contingency. Compare like-for-like quotes for the same dates, party size and cancellation terms.
Morocco uses the dirham (MAD); Spain and Portugal use the euro. Carry some cash for smaller purchases and check card acceptance and your bank’s fees. Use current exchange rates when you pay, rather than a fixed rate for 2030.
Continue your trip research ↗Source: Moroccan National Tourism Office · payment information; Visit Morocco Together · editorial budgeting checklist.06Summer days & local lifeLeave time for shade, food and the city
Inland and coastal conditions differ. Plan outdoor sightseeing earlier or later in the day, take sun protection and a light layer, and check the local forecast near departure. Follow the venue’s current bag and water-container policy.
Ask before photographing people, dress respectfully at religious sites and confirm visitor hours. Keep valuables secure in crowds and save your accommodation and travel insurer’s contact details.

These are flexible travel ideas. Insert a match only when your ticket, venue and date are confirmed.
-
DAY 1
Arrive & settle in
Stay in Casablanca. Start with the waterfront and keep the arrival day light.
-
DAYS 2–3
City time + a flexible match block
Visit the mosque or Habous. Reserve a separate day for a confirmed local match and its return transfer.
-
DAYS 4–5
Rabat, then depart
Move to Rabat for the kasbah and Hassan Tower. Choose your departure airport before fixing the final night.
-
DAYS 1–3
Tangier, from port to kasbah
Explore the medina and allow a separate coastal day. Keep the border-crossing day clear of a match.
-
DAYS 4–6
A capital interlude
Continue by rail to Rabat. Explore the river, kasbah and Chellah around a flexible match block.
-
DAYS 7–10
Casablanca & the Atlantic
Continue south for architecture and oceanfront time. Check the Hassan II venue transfer separately, then leave a departure buffer.
-
DAYS 1–3
Tangier
Arrive, explore the kasbah and coast. Start slowly after an international journey.
-
DAYS 4–6
Rabat
Take the train south. Mix capital landmarks with a flexible match or rest day.
-
DAYS 7–9
Casablanca
Explore the Atlantic city. Keep the Benslimane stadium journey separate.
-
DAYS 10–12
Fes
Travel east for medina heritage, gardens and a cooking experience.
-
DAYS 13–17
Marrakech
Reserve the first day for the longer transfer. Explore the city; add Agafay or a valley outing on a free day.
-
DAYS 18–21
Agadir
Continue by road or coach for beach time and a local outing. Consider departing from Agadir to avoid retracing the whole route.
A route does not guarantee matches in each city. Reorder the bases around confirmed fixtures. A multi-day Sahara tour needs additional nights; include travel, rest and the next stadium journey before adding it.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · editorial route suggestions and linked services; ONCF · existing northern rail corridor. No 2030 timetable or match allocation is implied.
Two continents, thoughtfully connected.
Build the international journey around the actual port, entry rules and your next match.
CITY-PORT ARRIVAL
Tarifa ↔ Tanger Ville
About 1 hour published sailing timeArrives at Tangier’s city port. Add check-in, passport control and the onward journey to your accommodation.
SEPARATE PORT TRANSFER
Algeciras ↔ Tanger Med
About 1½ hours published sailing timeTanger Med is a different port outside central Tangier. Arrange the onward city transfer before choosing a connection.
Source: Baleària · current route information, reviewed 20 October 2026. Sailing times exclude port formalities and transfers. Weather, schedules and 2030 services may differ.
Spain + Morocco
Match city in Spain → southern Spain → Tarifa or Algeciras → the correct Tangier port → your Moroccan base.
Portugal + Morocco
Lisbon or Porto → compare a suitable flight with an overland journey through Spain. Allow a separate transfer day for each international move.
Before you book
Check passport, Moroccan permission and Schengen re-entry conditions. Compare flights into one country and out of another to reduce backtracking.
Avoid a border crossing immediately before a match. Check local departure and arrival times, baggage rules and each operator’s disruption terms.

What dates should I plan around for the 2030 World Cup?
FIFA’s published planning outline proposes centenary matches on 8–9 June 2030, opening games in the main host countries on 13–14 June, and the final on 21 July. These are planning dates, not a city-by-city fixture list. Check FIFA’s latest tournament schedule before making match-dependent bookings.
Source: FIFA · World Cup 2030 tournament-organisation planning outlineIs Morocco hosting the 2030 World Cup?
Yes. FIFA appointed Morocco, Portugal and Spain as the main hosts on 11 December 2024. Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will each stage one centenary celebration match. The edition marks 100 years since the first men’s World Cup in 1930.
Source: FIFA · 2030 host appointment and centenary overviewWhich six Moroccan cities are in the 2030 stadium programme?
The six cities are Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Fes, Marrakech and Agadir. They are the city bases featured in SONARGES’ Road to 2030 programme. Match allocations and operational arrangements still need the relevant dated tournament announcement.
Source: SONARGES · Road to 2030Are all ten stadiums on this page World Cup 2030 venues?
No. Six entries follow Morocco’s 2030 city–stadium programme. Mohammed V, Moulay El Hassan, Rabat Olympic and Al-Medina are additional city football venues. The directory labels these separately; their presence here does not confirm a 2030 match allocation.
Source: SONARGES · Morocco Stadium GuideWhere is Grand Stade Hassan II, and how many seats are planned?
The Hassan II project is in El Mansouria, Benslimane Province, outside central Casablanca. Its planned capacity is 115,000. This is a project target, not a guarantee of the final tournament seating configuration. Plan the stadium transfer separately from a visit to central Casablanca.
Source: Populous · Grand Stade Hassan II project; SONARGES · stadium programmeCan I start planning before I know my match city?
Yes. Compare destinations, choose a preferred travel base and read the city guides. Keep match-dependent bookings flexible until your fixture, venue and ticket arrangements are confirmed.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · World Cup 2030 Morocco travel guideDoes this page sell World Cup 2030 match tickets?
No. Use FIFA’s dated official announcements to check ticket sales phases, prices and eligible sellers. A tour, transfer or hotel reservation is separate from a match ticket and does not establish stadium admission.
Source: FIFA · tournament ticket announcements; Visit Morocco Together · football ticket purchase checksMore answers: city bases, transport, experiences and football history
Which Moroccan city should I use as my travel base?
Start with the confirmed match city and compare the stadium transfer with your sightseeing plans. Casablanca suits an urban and Atlantic stay; Rabat combines capital landmarks and coastal walks; Tangier offers a northern gateway; Fes focuses on medina heritage; Marrakech suits gardens and city breaks; Agadir suits beach stays.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · six city travel guidesHow should I plan transport between the Moroccan match cities?
Build the route around each confirmed fixture and allow for station or airport transfers, event traffic and the return journey after the match. Check the relevant rail, air or coach operator’s current timetable. This page does not promise a special 2030 shuttle or a fixed journey time.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · Morocco matchday transport and pickup planningCan I combine Morocco with Spain and Portugal?
Yes. Compare flights with a route through southern Spain. Tarifa ferries arrive at Tanger Ville, while Algeciras ferries arrive at Tanger Med, a separate port outside central Tangier. Check each operator’s current schedule, allow for port formalities and transfers, and verify Moroccan entry and any Schengen re-entry requirements for your documents. Keep the crossing day clear of a match.
Source: Baleària · route information; Moroccan National Tourism Office · formalities; European Commission · Schengen guidanceWhat can I do between matches in Morocco?
Choose an experience that fits the time available: a medina or landmark visit, a city food experience, a coastal outing or a day trip. The experiences section links to five existing services per Moroccan city. Longer Sahara tours require a separate multi-day plan and should fit around confirmed match dates.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · linked city tours, activities and multi-day servicesWhat was Morocco’s landmark achievement at the 2022 World Cup?
Morocco became the first African and predominantly Arab national side to reach a men’s World Cup semi-final in 2022. The football history chapter connects that result with earlier teams, clubs and individual achievements, with source credits for each topic.
Source: FIFA · Morocco–Portugal quarter-final report, 10 December 2022Are the match results and players to watch a live feed?
The match journal is a dated editorial record, with a source review date and a manual refresh control. Players to watch are editorial selections rather than a confirmed 2030 squad. Check the displayed review date and official FRMF announcements for subsequent changes.
Source: FRMF · Visit Morocco Together match journalIs Grand Stade Hassan II confirmed to host the 2030 final?
Populous describes a stadium designed with the ability to stage the final. A design capability or bid proposal does not award that match. We have not verified a FIFA final-venue allocation in the sources reviewed for this guide. Do not base a non-refundable Casablanca booking on a claimed final venue.
Source: Populous · Hassan II project; Visit Morocco Together · source review, 20 October 2026Will World Cup 2030 fans need a Fan ID or special visa?
Check the organiser’s dated 2030 entry instructions for any Fan ID process. Requirements from AFCON or another World Cup do not establish this edition’s rules. Moroccan visa or authorisation requirements depend on your nationality and documents; Spain and Portugal follow Schengen rules. Check each destination and any re-entry before booking.
Source: Moroccan National Tourism Office · formalities; European Commission · Schengen guidance; Visit Morocco Together · tournament planning checksWhere will the official World Cup 2030 fan zones be?
Use a dated organiser or city announcement to confirm each location, opening time and admission condition. This guide does not treat proposed sites as operating fan zones or promise free entry. A public screening and stadium admission are separate arrangements.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · event-planning guidanceHow much should I budget for a Morocco 2030 football trip?
Build a budget from separate quotes for match tickets, rooms, intercity travel, stadium transfers, meals, activities, insurance and a contingency. Compare identical dates and cancellation terms. No single 2030 trip price is confirmed here; use current exchange rates for Moroccan dirhams and euros when you pay.
Source: Visit Morocco Together · editorial budgeting checklist; Moroccan National Tourism Office · payment informationWhat should I pack for summer matches in Morocco?
Take sun protection, comfortable walking shoes and a light layer for changing conditions. Inland and coastal climates differ, so check the local forecast near departure and plan outdoor visits around the heat. Check the venue’s current bag and water-container policy before leaving for the stadium.
